Kæri ritstjóri Sólskins. Mér þykir vænt um Sólskin. Þegar Lögberg kemur þá klippi ég það úr blaðinu, og ég ætla að safna því í stóra bók.

Ef ég ætti eina ósk, þá mundi ég óska að stríðið væri búið, því þá kæmi hann pabbi minn heim aftur, og ef ég ætti aðra ósk, þá mundi ég óska að konur mættu greiða atkvæði, því mamma segir að þá yrði aldrei stríð og þá hættu mennirnir að drepa hver annan. Með kærri kveðju til þín og sólskinsbarnanna.

Dear editor of Sólskín. I love Sólskin. When Lögberg arrives, I clip it out from the paper, and I would like to collect it in a big book.

If I had one wish, then I would wish that the war was over, since then my father would come back home, and if I had another wish, then I would wish that women could vote, since mom says that then there would be no wars and men would stop killing each other. With best wishes to you and the sunshine children.
