Eg þakka þér kærlega fyrir barnablaðið Sólskin, sem mér þykir svo vænt um; eg ætla að safna því saman og láta binda það í bók, og lesa það svo þegar eg er orðin stór. Eg hefi gaman af að lesa alt sem í því er. En fallegast þótti mér þó að lesa um gömlu börnin á Betel. Við bræðurnir sendum hér með $1.00 í Sólskinssjóðinn.

Dear editor of Sólskin.

Thank you sincerely for the children’s paper Sólskin, which I love so much; I would like to collect it together and have it bound in a book and read it when I grow up. I enjoy reading everything that is in it. But I found it most beautiful to read about the elderly children at Betel. We brothers are sending along $1.00 for the Sólskin-fund.
