Kæri ritstjóri Sólskins:

Eg hefi séð svo mörg bréf í Sólskini frá litlum börnum að eg ætla að skrifa fáeinar línur.

Eg þakka þér fyrir litla Sólskinsblaðið. Mér þykir gaman að lesa það.

Eg geng á sunnudagaskóla og er að læra að lesa og skrifa íslenzku.

Eg ætla að senda Sólskini litla sögu. – Svo hætti eg í þetta sinn. Eg kannske skrifa seinna.

Með beztu óskum til þín og Sólskins barnanna.

Dear editor of Sólskin:

I have seen so many letters in Sólskin from little children that I would like to write a few lines.

Thank you for the little Sólskin paper. I enjoy reading it.

I go to Sunday school and am learning to read and write Icelandic.

I would like to send a little story to Sólskin. – So, I will stop at this time. I may write again later.
