Selkirk, November 25th
Dear Sir: –
I am just writing you a few lines to thank you for the lovely “Sólskin’s” papers you send out. Oh, there are lovely stories and verses in them. I have memorized the verses of little Sigga and her image in the water, and I think it’s lovely. I cut out the little paper every week and am going to make a book out of them and I will read them when I am a lady, that is to say, if I live.
I cannot write in Icelandic, but I want to be able to learn, because it comes in handy some days. I can read it though.
I will send a story or something in the paper, after the next.
I will close with my very best love to you and the Sólskins-children.
Yours respectfully,
Clara Hanson, age 11 years.
West Selkirk, Man.
