Structural Analysis

This text is intended to teach students the methods and techniques for the analysis of structures. This textbook is composed of three parts. The first part consists of an overview of structural analysis and introduces several structural loadings that may be considered during the analysis and subsequent design of structures. The second part covers classic methods of the analysis of determinate structures. The final section discusses classic methods for the analysis of indeterminate structures as well as methods for the analysis and construction of influence lines for indeterminate structures.

Includes: Examples, practice problems, images.

Traffic Flow Theory: An Introduction with Exercises

Traffic processes cause several problems in the world. Traffic delay, pollution are some of it. They can be solved with the right road design or traffic management (control) measure. Before implementing these designs of measures, though, their effect could be tested. To this end, knowledge of traffic flow theory is needed.

Includes: Test questions

Methods and Techniques in Urban Engineering

The objective of this book is to present works related to urban automation, geographic information systems (GIS), analysis, monitoring and management of urban noise, floods and transports, information technology applied to the cities, tools for urban simulation, social monitoring and control of urban policies, sustainability, etc., demonstrating methods and techniques applied in Urban Engineering.

The Primacy of the Public

This book presents a framework for engineering and technology ethics focused around three core ethical principles: the principle of welfare, the autonomy principle, and the fairness principle. To support this framework, the book begins with an examination of multiple perspectives we may take on engineering and technology, all of which support the centrality of ethical analysis and evaluation.

Includes: Cases and activities

Engineering Computations

This resources consists of 5 modules which develop students’ skills with Python in Jupyter: Get Data Off the Ground, Take Off with Stats, Tour the Dynamics of Change and Motion, Land on Vector Spaces, and Transform All the Waves.

Basic Engineering Data Collection and Analysis

This book uses scenario examples and case studies to illustrate concepts. This approach encourages students to work through the material by carrying out data collection and analysis projects from problem formulation through the preparation of professional technical reports—just as if they were on the job.
