Team Communication

 

In the busy environment of the Linton Neighborhood Health Access Centre, a team of healthcare providers gathered for their morning team huddle. Team members available to join were Indigenous Elder, Roger; social worker, Alex; physician, Emily; nurse midwife, Jean; dental hygienist, Sylvia; physiotherapist, Sandy; pharmacist, Isaiah; reception staff, Bobby; occupational therapist, Avery; dentist, Marlene; the patient/client driver, Tom; and dietitian, Mo. Each brings their unique perspective to the huddle. (Fictional Scenario)

By the end of this chapter, learners will be able to identify key elements of effective team communication while considering contextual factors.
