Welcome to the OER Data Collection Toolkit, a project of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries’ Open Education Working Group.
The purpose of this toolkit is to provide guidance for librarians seeking to collect, manage and report data related to open educational resources (OER) at their institutions. It is intended to be a beginner-friendly resource, offering guidance for those just starting on a data collection project as well as those with more established programs.
This toolkit is organized into four parts:
- Planning describes considerations for before data collection begins
- Methods discusses data collection methods and examples for different types of data related to OER
- Analysis provides a broad overview of data analysis methods
- Reporting concerns how data related to OER can and should be shared with stakeholders and/or the wider community
Each chapter includes examples or links to resources for further information.
